Faces Of Girona

Between the Mediterranean Sea and the south-eastern foothills of the Pyrenees lies Girona, the "Place To Be" for racing and road bike riders - professionals and amateurs alike. Many professionals had or have set up camp here. This in turn attracted many enthusiastic amateur athletes to the small Catalonian town.

The photography project wants to portray these different athletes and is looking for the very special, unique expression, the special emotion - which unites all athletes - this fine line between pure happiness and the pain just to bear of a mountain race.

The project is in search of this visual expression and in doing so also portrays the athletes themselves, places them in the context of the location, the challenge of the terrain and of course their closest confidante - the bike.
